Uh Oh ... Could it not be a Walmart at all? With all the attention that has been paid to Grocery here, its one of two things;
-They either hear the public calling for an HEB
or
-They're introducing their MARKETSIDE Brand to Texas ....
No freakin way ...but I can't imagine that a Walmart MARKETSIDE Store would take up a 155K square footage footprint ...
Hmm, this made me stop and think. Funny thing is, I'm not as opposed to it just being a grocery store, even if it's brought to us from Walmart. The traffic situation will be better than a 24 hour super-center. It does appear based on their recent Hello Houston commercial that their target is groceries. That's great, make it a grocery only store and expect that those who want the rest Walmart has to offer will drive 4.6 miles West or 4.8 miles North. That is business sense I can get my head around. I still don't understand their current plan.
ReplyDeleteFrom the horses mouth, this is NOT in the works for Houston ... it'll be a Supercenter ... yippeee ...
